These are our teachers, our admin team and our packing crew! From the front of the class to behind the scenes, these are the people who keep The Seed thriving!
Aimee grew up in America knowing she would be an artist and teacher. Her passion started very young when she would pause her Disney VHS tapes (wow, that's a long time ago!) to draw the characters from the screen. She continued drawing for book covers, her school programs and art competitions winning a few prizes and awards along the way.
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Art Education and Fine Arts from Armstrong Atlantic State University in USA in 2008. Aimee quickly took a preschool teaching job then landed her dream art position in a primary school in Savannah Georgia. She has worked in primary and high school art programs, developed a creative arts program in Georgia USA, created a school holiday program here in Port Macquarie called C.A.M.P Port Mac, and owns/operates Paint Your Town Australia. But she has never opened her own studio until now - and man are you in for a treat!
Aimee is energetic and fun, yet patient with kids and kind with teaching her skills. Her goal is to have each participant have a sense of pride and accomplishment that they take home. "I thrive on helping people ignite their creativity. It's been a passion of mine forever. I want to help people discover their own creative flair by encouraging them to try new mediums and techniques and incorporate that in their own artworks."
Art is good for all souls, which is a firm belief at The Seed. Aimee is driven by helping all abilities participate in art making. She provides easy tips to manipulate materials and in-depth guidance tailored to each customer's unique ability. All of our classes are completely inclusive, everyone can join in. Carers are welcome to come and even join in too. Art is good for the soul and that goodness is universal. Aimee's out to help all people harness their creativity and make their mark.
Aimee has a First Aid Certificate, Police Check and Working with Children Check and Covid Infection Control Training.
GRAPHIC DESIGNER, ART TEACHER, KOOK
Cherie has been involved in all aspects of creative arts since she was able to run in circles- her kindy ballet teacher loved that! From the minute she was introduced to art and drama classes in primary school, she knew it was something that would be in her life forever, and looked to the future to find ways of incorporating it into her career. So, after graduating from high school with achievements in art and drama, she began studying.
Cherie has a Bachelor of Creative Industries, a Diploma of Graphic Design, a Diploma of Arts, a Certificate III in Design Fundamentals and a Statement of Attainment in Visual Arts. She is also currently studying her Teaching Certificate so that she can present to her students the most up to date and informative lessons possible!
Since learning all of these skills Cherie has primarily used them digitally, working as a freelance Graphic Designer for multiple businesses and clients. She is so pleased to be working at The Seed, as it allows her to go back to her roots and create in a traditional sense, exploring different artistic techniques and experimenting with new mediums. Teaching has allowed her to share her in-depth knowledge of creative arts, and she loves being able to see her students flourish creatively and witness their personalities shine through in the artworks they produce.
Cherie has her Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate and Covid Infection Control Training.
PACKING EXTRAORDINAIRE, RESIN MAGICIAN
Olivia is a self taught creator with many areas of interest. Olivia began her creative journey with Aimee as the initial Paint Your Town artist for the local region and kept this position for a number of years. Teaching people of all ages to paint brought her joy, and she enjoyed sharing her love of art with the people she was instructing.
Olivia currently works at The Seed packing online orders for our Creative Art Kits, but has recently started teaching again! She currently holds resin and macrame workshops in our studio. Olivia's specific interest is resin, she enjoys creating resin pours with a beach theme, using sand and shells combined with the gorgeous teal and azure inks, mica powders and acrylic paint. Her works are inspired by our beautiful local beaches.
JACK OF ALL TRADES, BIRD ENTHUSIAST
Sam is an avid lover of the arts, and dabbles in a bit of everything. Her artistic journey began as a love for drawing as a young teen, so working at The Seed as a young adult has been a driving force behind her creativity. In high school, Sam received a creative performance award in art, and an academic achievement award in art. Sam was also a finalist in the 2020 Mid North Coast writing competition.
You'll find Sam in the warehouse packing orders, painting amazing murals in the warehouse, (the Tree of Creativity is her amazing design!) and keeping our events up to date so you can all find them on the world wide web!
