Celebrate International Disability Day at The Seed this December! Make new friends and tap into your creativity at The Seed Creative Workshops, an art studio in beautiful Port Macquarie NSW. Includes a variety of projects, all meals and drinks, a goody bag full of supplies and a new t-shirt too! Our expert team will provide a fun and supportive environment to help you explore your artistic side!

Saturday

9:30- Doors open- tour, goodie bag, meet and greet

10:00- Let it flow! Resin pouring workshop w/ Aimee

11:30- Morning tea- Cupcakes, coffee and tea

12:00- Ground yourself with a Pottery session w/ Dee

2:00- Lunch provided by The Seed

2:30- Paint a Pot workshop with Cherie

3:00- Happy hour ;)

4:00- Farewell for the night

Sunday

10:00- Canvas painting with Aimee

12:00- Morning tea- Breakfast slice, coffee, tea & juice

12:30- Pyrography with Cherie

2:00- Lunch provided by The Seed

2:30- Glazing and sgraffito with Dee

3:00- Happy hour ;)

4:00- Group circle, hugs & pictures

The magic begins at our art studio on Saturday morning where you’ll get a quick tour of the space, open your goodie bag, put on your new Seed Shirt (to keep!) and be immersed in our favourite mediums.

To kick off the creative workshops we have a flowing Resin Workshop with Aimee. You will learn about different types of resin, how to mix it, add powder and paste pigments and unique pouring techniques. You will pour on a test coaster to get a feel for the medium then pour on a large platter, lazy susan or canvas. You will be able to take your finished pours at the end of the day.

Morning tea will be delicious cupcakes baked by Marni, tea and coffee. You will be taking photos of these edible creations before devouring them, we promise!

Next up is a special pottery workshop with our Potter Dee. She will guide you in using the slab roller, pinching and coil construction. Option pottery wheel practice is available if you would like to give it a go! Your clay creations will take 2-3 weeks to dry then get bisque fired, glazed, and fired again (we do this hard work for you). Your final piece will be ready to collect within 6 weeks of the retreat.

We will keep you hydrated and well fed with a homemade toastie, chips, salad and cookies.

Next is a our super star Cherie working with paints, pots and posca pens! She will get you feeling confident to go home and continue creating with paint.

On Sunday we will start with a canvas painting with Aimee. She will teach you a few techniques on applying paint, blending, and layering.

After morning tea the workshop will warm up with a pyrography workshop with Cherie. She will teach you how to use a heat gun on wood, then adding paint and details to embellish your work.

Lastly you will meet with Dee again who will teach you how to glaze then scratch a design into the pottery, leaving the raw clay showing. It is a beautiful way to add details before firing!

The meals are delicious, wholesome and made with love. If you have any dietary restrictions let us know! We’ll definitely take care of you. Just add it in the food request text area when booking your ticket. Include any requirements and favourite drinks so you feel right at home.

If you’re interested in hosting your own private art retreat let’s talk! Great for groups of 4-20 people. You choose what activities and the date. We provide tuition in a variety of mediums with the option of catering and overnight accommodation.
